MYCo – Meet Your Colleague

Overcoming generational stereotypes through knowledge.

“MYCO – Meet Your Colleague” is a 24-month Erasmus+ funded project that aims to create a training tool in the field of Diversity and Inclusion.
By going beyond generational stereotypes, we want to promote inclusion in the workplace.
Using age as a starting point, we address topics such as communication, technology and approach to work, in an attempt to dispel myths and create cross-generational mentoring and collaboration opportunities. The project will also explore intersectionality with other life and cultural diversities and aims to grow empathy and understanding in the workplace.

The coordinator of the project is Diciannove Società Cooperativa (Italy), and partner organisations are: Stowarzyszenie Centrum Wspierania Edukacji i Przedsiębiorczości (Poland), LABC s.r.l. (Italy), E&D knowledge consulting (Portugal), assist gesellschaft für unternehmensberatung und personalentwicklung mbh (Germany) and Ballyhoura Development CLG (Ireland).

Transnational report on generational diversity

A report on Generational Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace in the partnership countries including:

  • A desk research to frame the situation.
  • A survey involving 30 subjects from each partner country. Our survey questions are formulated to understand training needs and collect salient work-life data.

Handbook on Generational Inclusion and Diversity

Following an introductory chapter, the Handbook explores generational inclusion from five different perspectives.

  • Communication between generations
  • Generational diversity from an intersectional point of view
  • How to bridge digital inequality
  • Generational diversity from an intercultural point of view
  • Differences in approach to work

It also contains an introductory chapter on the topic and instructions on how to create a manual customized to your own inclusion needs.

Activities for inclusion workshops

For each topic in the Handbook, three activities are provided to be carried out in the inclusion training workshops. All activities are based on the principles of participatory learning and full instructions are provided.

MYCo Game

A game to challenge stereotypes and foster deeper understanding of your colleagues

Participants will create an avatar of themselves and their colleagues based on generational stereotypes.
The game involves identifying similarities and differences between the stereotypes and the real person, revealing unique personalities beyond pre-conceived ideas based on generational traits.
This tool will help break stereotypes and encourage deeper understanding of differing perspectives among your colleagues.
